M1

You can tell that founders Rob and Sue are sailing folk, for every spare cubic inch of hidden storage is cleverly used in this wonderful community café to keep the space clear for the good stuff. Bespoke artwork and bike paraphernalia are rife because cycling - and feeding hungry cyclists - is big news here; they even sell Volt e-bikes. If staying in the area, join a social ride-out to really deserve that whopping slice of burnt Basque cheesecake on your return.

You'll find quality local ingredients in everything on the menu, from Hub and Spoke's homemade sausage rolls and smoothies to their bakes, shakes, coffees and cakes. In the evenings, the hand-stretched, homemade pizzas are in demand: the smoky chicken and dolcelatte version with bubbled, charred edges is delicious. Their creation story (spanning Northampton, France, London and lockdown) is genuinely interesting and told with great humour; settle in for a natter or grab and go if in a rush.
