Sometimes in life, unusual combinations work: chocolate and chilli, bacon and maple syrup. On this herb-lined hillside, an unlikely but winning duo meet: lavender and Tamworth pigs (the oldest pure-bred native pig in the British Isles).
The Story Pig lavender farm lies above the ancient market town of Sherbourne and The Lavender Keepers is its café-in-a-tipi, complete with kitchen garden and far-reaching rural views. The red-coated Tamworths roam freely about, happy as pigs in...lavender, while intrigued visitors snaffle homemade sausage rolls, scotch eggs, focaccias, quiches, salads, hot drinks and sweet treats straight from the farm kitchen.
Tamworth pork is prominent on the menu. Bred to the highest welfare standards, this pork is delicious, distinctive and ready to pop into your boot for your evening meal. Collect prime cuts, sausages, hams, cured bacon and more in the week; weekends are for tipi café action. The pulled pork baps start at 11.30am.
