Step inside this green metal building - it's creative hub meets café - and you may well meet a big man with a big personality (and, seasonally, a big beard): Scott the Scot, driving force behind The Green Shed. For brunch, tuck into Shed Pancakes; a Miner's breakfast (with slices of sourdough and black pudding) or a New York-style bagel. Lunchtime panini and toasties are heaped with salad bar sides, from slaws to couscous and pasta salads. Quiche, falafel and soups are also menu staples.
Thoughtful things happen under the hood in this friendly Haverfordwest haunt. The décor uses contrasting colours to help people with dementia and the kitchen trains local people with disabilities to help them into work. The interior mingles metals, wood and leather with good lighting and copious glossy green plants, for a stylish haven on the edge of the Welsh world. Far superior to grabbing a coffee at the ferry terminal if you're running ahead of schedule.
