A30

Very little about The Arundell Hotel has changed since the days of yore, when weary travellers on the old A30 would enjoy a warm welcome when crossing the Tamar from Devon into Cornwall. However, Tesla superchargers have replaced the stables and there are now a deli, first-class restaurant and delightful afternoon teas.

The kitchen is busy making and baking so that freshly crafted bread, cakes and meals are ready to roll at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Local, seasonal and wild are watchwords at the brasserie-styled restaurant. The deli bursts with groceries, wine and fresh fruit and veg and can kit you out with light bites and hot drinks to go.

Protecting the local rivers is high on the agenda, for The Arundell has been a fishing hotel for over a century (no farmed fish is sold or served). Book into the Fly Fishing School for tips on the wild fishing nearby or go rambling, cycling, or moorland riding on Dartmoor.
