- Sally will reopen Thyme & Tides as Salt Deli Kitchen in summer 2024 -
When some people put ingredients together on a plate, it just looks like food. Others make the same thing look like art. The chefs at Thyme & Tides fall into the latter camp.
Owners Sally and Iain's low-food-mile ethos attracts local producers keen to share their wares. You'll leave the deli laden with fresh pasta and curry sauces; cinnamon buns and cakes; or local cheeses, chutneys and honey (perhaps arranged in a branded wooden crate as a gift for a lucky friend).
There's café seating inside and out to meet your brunch, lunch and snacking demands: a sourdough toastie with wintry slaw, perhaps, the hot meal du jour or a summer salad with an organic ice cream to enjoy in the sun. The duo also runs a foodie hub in Stockbridge: one to visit next time.
This deli-café has a great roadside spot on the A30 near the medieval cathedral town of Salisbury. For sweeping views scale Neolithic Figsbury Ring nearby; for an art-packed afternoon, visit the New Art Centre's 60-acre sculpture park just up the road.
