Ely is worth every minute of diversion, with its glory of a cathedral and sense of peace. In the town centre, Unwrapped has an enthusiastic local following. Its colourful counters are abuzz with people topping up on eco and organic products or choosing their generously sized cake, toastie or delicious berry Bostock (a French toast meets almond croissant).
Ely's first refill larder and socially inspired enterprise, it launched in 2019 when The Prospects Trust brought its social care provision onto the High Street to support people with additional needs. Everyone's doing a fab job and the service is smooth and friendly.
Shelves are heavy with organic veggies, harvested just up the road at Snakehall Farm, and the seasonally swayed menu is prepared in their Enterprise Kitchen. Unwrapped is farm shop meets refill shop meets café with a conscience. Enjoy your coffee - from local roastery, Hot Numbers - beneath the canopy outside. Definitely worth a slice of your hard-earned time while exploring Ely.
