M5

With a young family keeping them busy, Ryan and Lisa sought quality coffee close to home. Drawing a blank, they boldly decided to create their own café and farm store in a purpose-built oak and Cotswold stone building in the pretty village of Failand.

Their 'caffeine' box ticked - priorities, priorities - the owners then piled their shelves high with the best independent brands and tastiest local flavours to keep neighbours, commuters and hungry cyclists happy. Traceable treats and high-quality gourmet gifts abound. This community hub is now the place to go for Somerset brands including Nutts scotch eggs, Chew Valley Dairy (milk dispensing) and Brockley Stores' famed quiches.

It's family run with knowledgeable staff who exude a passion for both the coffee shop and the community. Perch in the window with a paper; enjoy your cake, sandwich or savoury on the compact terrace; or swing by on your way to or from nearby Bristol Airport.
