Llandeilo is one of those places you're 'sorry-not-sorry' that more people have yet to hear about. A Sunday Times 'Best Place to live in Wales', it has great pubs and delis and now the uber-modern artisanal bakery and café: Pitchfork & Provision.
Duck off the high street (rubbernecking past the flour-covered craft bakers) to find this Scandi-inspired café that creates everything in-house from high-quality Welsh ingredients. It's a big fat 'no' to commercial yeast and a chorus of 'yesses' to the use of their own 10-year-old sourdough leaven: 'It takes around 36 hours from the first mix to the final loaves yet once they hit the shelves, they don't last long!'
In just one year, this former hobby bakery has tripled its seating, kitted out a top-end bakery and introduced a deli to sell tasty products from Wales and beyond. They've baked more savouries and cakes than you can shake a sugary stick at plus they offer pizza, wine, charcuterie boards and more. A must-visit in Llandeilo.
