The Tree House Café, overlooking Hopwood Park, is so much more than a quick stop-off. It's a community hub, a place where local young adults can get their first taste of work and a beacon for what can be achieved with a bit of passion and commitment.
Manager Sandra started the project having seen this local park go downhill. It had potential, so she and her team of volunteers worked hard to create what is now an award-winning green space. There are picnic benches, playgrounds and a wildlife pond plus a thriving community café - all created through fundraising and the renovation of a 1950s' bus shelter.
They now offer a great menu of snacks, specials and fresh-baked and homemade food, plus local Birch Farm's Old Fashioned Ice Cream. Sandra is keen to tempt people off the M62 just north of Manchester, to enjoy a moment of peace and some 'tastes good, feels good' food. Your coffee, cake or sarnie will help fund The Friends of Hopwood Park's many worthwhile local projects. Dogs are welcome outside.
