This book exists to bring you such first-rate finds as The Old Dairy, a rustic café on a working farm around a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bend near the A303. Inside the red-brick building are faded wooden beams and chalky paintwork - the ceramics are eye-catchingly arty and the sheepdogs muddy and happy.
Owner Emily works her magic with farm-fresh fruit and veg and the strawberries, gelato, cakes and chutneys are divine. Free-range is a given and Barrett Brothers meat, Bower Hinton vegetables, Holy Cow organic milk and Sausage Shed's produce grace the menu. Emily's suppliers have welfare standards as high as her own so this is guilt-free goodness.
The street-food inspired café and takeaway menus respond to the harvest and cater for appetites of all sizes. This is farm diversification at its best (keep kids and pets close). Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of this country idyll then fill your car's boot with leafy veggies from the stall en route back to the car.
