A14

When the owners' cute and curly dogs get their own intro on the menu, you know you've found four-legged heaven. This ever-busy café promises diversions for the kiddos and a warm welcome for the doggos and it certainly delivers.

Folk is on a rural business park near Bury St Edmunds, where seating spills from inside to out. There are wood burners and exposed brickwork, folk nights and fire pits and ceilings strung with twinkling lights. The stylishly rustic space will enlarge in 2023 to add bookable booths, private dining, an AirBnB and a deli, plus further gifts and goodies.

The menu will help you recharge and refuel. Attack the Folk Fry Up, crunch through a healthy slaw, try the Coronation Chickpea or photograph (if you must) your Instagrammable Avo, Pea Shoot and Pomegranate toasts. Coffee is from Suffolk's Butterworth & Son and artisan bread arrives fresh from Wooster's Bakery. (Check ahead, a short closure is planned to complete the expansion.)
