Little sister to the original Ginger and Pickles tea room in Nantwich, the Tarporley outpost opened in 2017, this time in a former bakery, and is once again plying the high street with delicious baked morsels.
If you're passing in the morning and need sustenance for the journey ahead, do check out their very novel 'Beforenoon Tea'. It's a creative slant on the sweeter afternoon version which substitutes cakes and finger sandwiches for smoked salmon bagels, bacon sandwiches, morsels of cooked breakfast and wedges of toast with jam and chutney. Elsewhere on the menu, dishes are hearty, made with the best local ingredients and notably fresh: think halloumi smash with crushed peas, mint and rocket, sweetcorn fritters with a poached egg or a goats cheese and beetroot salad.
Space is a little tight so pushchairs aren't allowed inside, but kids are very welcome. Parking is available on the street outside, or in the small car park up the road.
