Don’t be put off by the misleading 15-minute diversion, as Bonnefirebox is around four miles from the M11 as the crow flies, so a little dog-leg diversion between junctions is all you need to add a smashing stop to your journey.
Jodie and Adam set up their bricks-and-mortar café less than a year ago, a natural extension of their extremely successful street food van from which they’ve been selling wood-fired pizzas for four years. Adam is a talented chef and makes everything from scratch, right down to the sourdough and pasta. Breakfast on smashed avocado on sourdough or a full English; lunch on loaded sweet potato wedges, salad boxes or rotis piled with falafel or wood-fired meats. And good luck resisting one of their doughnuts if they’re on the counter.
Jodie’s creative background has been put to good use in the hip interior and the up-cycled kitchen-styled play area in the garden which is being continually adding to along with other hand-built projects.
