A14

A short distance from Cambridge, Papworth Everard stands on the old Roman highway that once linked London with York. Today, a bypass carries the traffic north and south, and the village is a peaceful haven.

The Courtyard Coffee Shop and Micropub is at one edge of a 1960s-style precinct beside the Post Office. It was previously a café for the residents of the Papworth Trust, a charity providing support for disabled people including housing and training. It has now been taken over by Steph and Dave who have turned it into a welcoming community coffee shop by day and an inviting bar by night, serving cocktails and locally brewed tipples.

Dave already had a coffee roasting business which has now joined forces with the coffee shop, so the flat whites are excellent – ‘Best in the Cambridge area,’ according to one customer.
