Carmarthen is a convenient staging post if you’re heading to Pembrokeshire or on to Ireland by ferry, and Tea Traders is an ideal place to stop for afternoon tea, homemade cakes, or a tasty snack. It was founded by Paul and Nick who both worked in special needs teaching before deciding to branch out – but true to their roots they offer employment and training opportunities in the cafe to adults with learning difficulties.
Carmarthen’s Old Town and outdoor seating make for great people watching on fine days.
Service is friendly and you can choose from a wall of over 100 loose-leaf teas. The range is impressive, though we’d recommend the house blend with a slice of one of the excellent cakes. Enjoy a freshly-brewed coffee or try a ‘Tea Experience’ and ask the team to help you discover new favourites. You can buy them online if you have a hankering for the unique blends when you get back home.
For authentic souvenirs and gifts, look no further then the beautiful tea-wares and carefully selected Welsh crafts, cards and prints. Find parking at Blue Street Car Park.
