M62

The combination of home cooking and crafts make this a cosy place to pause on your journey. Rivers Meet is an unassuming café in the village of Methley. The building was once a pub but today its rooms play host to numerous microbusinesses selling their arts and crafts – leather handbags, natural skincare, dream catchers and clothing – as well as a range of classes and workshops. Drop in and you might find a kids’ activity in full swing, a book club chattering enthusiastically or a local WI meeting discussing jam or climate change.

Given the business ethos, it’s only right that food is homemade to match. This is plain from the delicious smells that greet you on arrival. Lunch might be a pulled pork scuffler (Yorkshire bread cake) or a freshly baked quiche, warm from the oven.

A modest amount of parking is available just beyond the bend in the road.
