The Woodworks Garden Centre

Woodworks began life as a pallet manufacturing business in a modest timber yard and has now grown into a large, family-run garden centre. It’s still true to its wooden roots in both name and services, and visitors can browse the mill warehouse for tempting wooden planters, summer houses, patio sets and barbecue shelters. But the addition of a gift shop, garden emporium, cafe and robust selection of plants makes this a destination in its own right.

Gardening fanatics will be in their element – while they enjoy the plants others can hunker down in the cafe. Furniture is reassuringly chunky and food is wholesome and reasonably priced. Expect generous breakfasts, paninis, jackets, soups, rarebits, scones and decent coffee. There’s a covered seating area outside, perfect for a cuppa among the flowers.
