It's well worth escaping the M40 for the pretty market town of Thame, nestled at the foot of the Chilterns. It has a handsome and lively High Street with cosy pubs, beautiful homeware shops, and a fantastic deli/café, What's Cooking.
The talented chefs take great care in selecting the finest, fresh, local ingredients and it shines through in the flavours of their food. Breakfast and brunch is served all day and offers something for everyone, from homemade granola, buttermilk pancakes and bacon brioche rolls, to crushed avocado, huevos rancheros and shakshuka. For lunch you can grab a quick toastie, or choose from a mouth-watering array of filo tarts and colourful salads.
Or you can simply enjoy a slice of one of the excellent freshly-baked cakes over a latte: the baristas here really know their craft and the coffee is very good, brewed using beans from a company up the road that shares their ethical ethos.
Parking is available up the road in the town's large, free car park.
