This fabulous place is a Small Farm Shop of the Year finalist in the 2023 Farm Retail Awards (results pending as we go to print - good luck!). It's in the converted buildings of Burwash Manor’s family farm, one of a handful of independent businesses in this pretty, rural courtyard near the M11.
Hungry? Excellent. Enjoy lunch from the kaleidoscopic deli counter then fill that mysterious 'always room for cake' space with a slice of something scrumptious. The excellent coffee is from a Cambridge roastery that barista-trains the whole team to ensure the perfect cup. Fill a tote with deli snacks for later – the Burwash Sausage Roll was recently voted the best in Cambridge. Find local asparagus when in season and fresh produce from small organic suppliers. There are store cupboard treats galore and miss the 70-variety cheese counter at your peril.
Out the back you'll find an adorable hand-carved Wendy house and slide to amuse the kids, with picnic benches for supervising parents. If you’ve got time, go on a dog-friendly sign-posted farm walk.
