Burwash Larder, a farm shop and delicatessen, stands in the converted farm buildings of Burwash Manor’s family farm, one of thirteen independent businesses in the pretty, rural courtyard just moments from the M11.
Arrive hungry to enjoy lunch from the well-stocked and frequently changing deli counter, and finish off with delicious cakes baked by talented local bakers. The coffee is excellent and provided by a Cambridge roastery who barista-train the whole team.
Fill a tote with tasty goodies from the deli for your onward journey – the sage and onion Burwash loaf is designed to be paired with their sausages – and in season you’ll find the farm’s own asparagus and pork from their rare breed pigs. Pick up some store cupboard treats to take home and don’t miss the cheese counter – there are 70 varieties to choose from.
Out the back here’s an adorable hand-carved Wendy house and play area to amuse the kids, with picnic benches for supervising parents. If you’ve got time, explore the farm’s signposted walks.
