Craigie's café-restaurant, an essential eating experience near Edinburgh, has emerged from its complete makeover and the scores are in: 10 out of 10. Take in the fantastic views over the Firth of Forth and Pentland Hills with a coffee, before browsing a real farm shop packed with the fruits of the local landscape. They've upped the adventure ante, too, with a Little Farmers Play Barn to help families blend food, fun and farm education.
The shop has an on-site butchery, the Buffalo Farm, and the café crams the best local ingredients into its seasonal menu. Soups, salads, sandwiches, specials and delicious home-baked cakes can be enjoyed inside, outdoors or to take away. The dedicated Canine Café will keep the hounds happy.
