Ludlow Farmshop and Ludlow Kitchen

Set on the edge of the Earl of Plymouth’s estate, this fab farm shop is a microcosm of the foodie hub that is Ludlow. They're beyond passionate about local food here, with over half the products grown, reared or made on the farm. Find rare-breed Gloucester Old Spot pork, wild venison and dairy delights from their own cows. Their on-site hotel, The Clive Arms, is supplied with these first-rate goods, too.

The café also features copious amounts of fresh farm produce, from hand-churned butter to homemade cakes. A breakfast of house granola with farm yoghurt and honey would be a treat; brunch or lunch on crispy salads, juicy burgers and well-filled sandwiches.

After filling your boots with farm-made cheese and jams, freshly-roasted coffee and snacks, soak up the scenery at a picnic table. There’s a play area (with ice-cream cabin in summer) where kids can monkey around to prepare them for a long nap in the car. A winner.
