Wright’s Food Emporium sagely adopted the Golden Grove Arms, a former village pub, when it outgrew its previous home in a nearby farm shop. The network of rooms lend themselves perfectly to the holistic foodie concept, with a deli, café, weekend bistro and wine shop catering to almost every whim. Duck-egg blue panelling, mismatched chairs, repurposed bureaux, scrubbed wooden tables and vintage posters create a low-key, relaxed ambience. Munch generous antipasto platters (the charcuterie is second to none) and salads in the bright conservatory, and enjoy the much-celebrated pork belly Cubano in the dining room or in the courtyard garden.
Make the most of the refillable wine and cider (just buy a bottle and top it up from the barrel in the wine shop) or the pie of the day, which you can take away when you buy an enamel dish. Fill your tote bag with delicious homemade focaccia, lumps of Welsh cheese, Wright’s signature chilli sauce and organic lavender hand creams.
