Music hums gently but otherwise the only sounds here are the rush of wind through the corn and birds twittering in the trees. White Post Cafe is housed in a Scandi-style wood cabin in the middle of the successful plant nursery of the same name. It’s a great stop year-round - idyllic views over to the Blackdown Hills on a summer afternoon, and a roaring log fire to settle next to in winter. If the M5 has your nerves jangling there are few better places to unwind.
The menu changes every month or so with the seasons and has a set brunch menu at weekends. Produce is supplied by the wonderful farms and growers of Somerset and stops are perfectly complemented by freshly baked cakes, locally roasted coffee and loose leaf tea. Don’t blame us if you’re late home.
