CLOSED BUT EXPLORING WAYS TO SUPPORT THE LONELY & VULNERABLE IN THE COMMUNITY
There’s a cheery welcome and a real sense of community at the Breadhouse, encouraged by lovely initiatives such as crochet workshops, guided walks, art exhibitions and seminars. Set in the town’s central marketplace, it’s a hub for Chalfont St Peter. Step through the door and you’re greeted by a beautiful cherry-wood counter laden with home baking, from sausage rolls and banana loaf to chocolate mud cake.
It’s family-friendly and kids will be kept occupied by the play area in the corner, though with tables spread over two levels, it’s easy to find a peaceful spot too.
A roll of brown paper hung on the wall displays the often-changing specials, ranging from Moroccan porridge to sautéed asparagus with poached egg and bacon, mini roast pumpkin stuffed with puy lentils and smoked mackerel salad. There’s lots for vegans and vegetarians here as well, and probably the best almond coffee near the M25!
