The Mounce family began this fruity farming legacy over 23 years ago with a humble plot of strawberries. Their fields now supply almost everything on the kitchen menu – meat, eggs, fruit and vegetables, often muddy from the field. Look forward to an excellent breakfast or delicious cream tea, slathered with the farm’s fresh strawberry jam. ‘The scones would have made Mary Berry cry,’ said one customer. In a good way, of course.

Recreate this at home by raiding the large, timber-clad farm shop. It's stocked with irresistible goodies from home-reared beef and lamb to home-baked quiches, pies, hams and outrageously good ice cream made with the farm’s soft fruit. Parking is plentiful, leg-stretching space abounds.
