Kitchen at Jordans Courtyard stands conveniently close to the A303 at Horton Cross. The food here is wholesome, nourishing and made on site from scratch using seasonal ingredients. A varied menu of old favourites and modern classics include homemade banana bread with cinnamon butter, a wonderful full English and a just-as-good veggie version, homemade sourdough pizza with fennel salami and caramelised onions and salmon gravlax and avocado salad. Puds such as homemade Belgian waffles with ice cream and maple syrup await those with a sweet tooth.
Light spills into the café from a long run of windows and on fine days you can sit at a table on the wide terrace. Jordans Courtyard – an inviting collection of converted hamstone and clapboard barns – is also home to a spa, nail bar and gift shop bursting with Somerset artisan produce, so there’s plenty to delay your onward journey if you need a longer break.
