You can’t help but be restored by the panoramic views over the Yorkshire Dales from the High Parks tearoom. Grab a table by one of the huge windows or out on the terrace to soak up the rugged scenery as you tuck into the tasty café fare – perhaps a Full Yorkshire Breakfast, Wensleydale and pear toastie or the renowned High Parks Afternoon Tea.
There’s plenty to keep you entertained beyond the tearoom too. You’ll have to prise kids away from the street-themed play area inside, where they can bake cakes, buy groceries and watch films in the cinema.
Outside, the fort playground throngs with little people on sunny days (and is fenced, so you can watch from the peace of the café) while the farm animals are enduringly popular, particularly Dicky and Lily the miniature Shetland ponies. Everyone will enjoy glimpsing a little magic – or even a goblin – on a walk through the new enchanted fairy woodland.
