It’s the warm reception and personal service that regulars to Gin and Pickles praise so highly. What started as a simple penchant for gin and pickles has turned into a winning deli-café combination that’s hugely popular with the locals.
Zoe behind the counter is an ardent supporter of local producers, from the eye-widening cheese selection, to salted caramel brownies and English charcuterie. The menu mainly features finger food, but you’re bound to find something to stave off the hunger pangs, whether a slice of blueberry and violet loaf, a lunchtime deli board or a portion of chilli cashews. At weekends almond croissants and custard chocolate twists are served warm from the oven, and kids love the gingerbread dinosaurs. If you like what you taste, fill a basket from the shelves of the deli – great for snacks, holiday groceries and a tipple on arrival (sample one of the range of small batch gins). Coffee can be made to go, but don't forget to bring your cup as disposables have been phased out. If you forget, Keep Cups are available to buy and you can never have too many. Well, almost never.
