A11

Elveden is the former home of the Maharajah Duleep Singh and the current home of the Guinness family. A few minutes’ drive off the A11, onto the B1106 and left again down the wooded drive to a huge car park, with the Courtyard set in the middle of the former stable block.

Foodies won’t be disappointed with the range of goods in the Food Hall, both local and exotic – this is an epicurean Aladdin’s Cave. The adjacent restaurant’s menu serves meals from breakfast to tea and everything in between. Much of what’s served is sourced on the Elveden Estate (look out for shot in your game dish!)

The Tea Room ‘Teapots & Post’ serves light lunches as well as tea and coffee and delicious freshly-baked, homemade scones and cakes; uniquely it is also the home of the village Post Office. After eating, browse the Home & Garden shop which has an array of gifts and homeware or treat yourself to handmade chocolates or macarons. Dogs are welcome outside.
