Farm shop cafe
M6, Junction 22; 5 mins
Parking available onsite
A pen of goats bleat for their breakfast outside Red Bank Farm Shop, while Limousin and Angus cows graze in the fields behind. The meat is as fresh as it comes, with much of the produce reared here, and convenient BBQ or breakfast boxes make picking the best cuts easy.
Step through the racing-green doors and you’ll find shelves loaded with free-range eggs, flours, preserves, Cheshire honey, dipping crackers and fresh pies to take away. A small but stylish café – painted a charcoal grey with dark wood cladding and cheery festoon lights, and decorated with vintage posters and hessian coffee sacks – serves excellent breakfasts, lunches and coffees.
Breakfast might be bacon on barm cake (bread roll) or smoked salmon and cream cheese on toast; lunch a hot roast beef baguette with caramelised onion gravy or meatball sub, slathered with cheese. In the afternoon, snack on pork pies, sinful gluten-free brownies or chocolate and peanut butter flapjacks.
