Congratulations are in order - welcome to the North West's Farm Shop of the Year and the UK's Farm Shop Café of the Year (2022). From a barn where lambs once took their first steps, The Lambing Shed has now fully evolved thanks to the efforts of the Mitchell family. Huge windows let the light stream in and the shop has products from over 60 local suppliers that share the family's ‘fresh, local and simple’ philosophy. Head to the deli for hamper-worthy charcuterie and cheese (over 40 types), jams and gins, ice cream and handmade pies.
Take your coffee and homemade cake out to a shaded table on the patio, from which you can survey some of the farm's 400 acres. Select some choice cuts of home-reared meat in the award-winning butchery, where Master Butcher Richard is on hand with sage advice. Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, the café is known for its lip-smacking Lambing Shed burgers, house-cured bacon and fresh salads and sausage rolls.
