M6

Cosy and inviting with iron windows, bare brick walls and wooden panelling, the café at the Emma Bridgewater factory is a diamond of a staging post. Colourful walls, industrial accents, steel girders and low hanging lights remind you that this is a working factory. There’s even a cream Aga decorated in the same coloured dots that have made Emma Bridgewater a household name.

Coffee is smooth, tea is delicate, and the tasty food is often inspired by Emma’s recipes. The menu includes seasonal specials, such as homemade marmalade on toast, quiches, sandwiches, daily soups, yummy cakes and children’s lunchboxes. The secret walled garden is a thoughtful, environmentally considerate haven overflowing with colourful blooms.

If you’ve got time to spare, the experience day is worthwhile: an award-winning factory tour, afternoon tea and a session in the decorating studio.

Dogs are welcome in courtyard area.
