M5

A lovely farm shop and café in an old stone barn across the road from the village croquet green. Zoe is the energetic driving force behind the hub, priding herself on a cheerful atmosphere and hearty, satisfying food. Breakfasts are the toast of the town, sandwiches are freshly made, the coffee is smooth, tea is served in pots and cakes are baked in the kitchen, from classic Victoria sponge to fresh cream buns jewelled with strawberries.

Tables and chairs are set out at the front on sunny days (frequently occupied by cyclists, often a herald of good baking) and there is plenty of space inside when the weather is less kind.

The sandy beaches of Brean and Weston-super-Mare are within easy reach if children and pets need to run and play, and the blustery walk up to the headland at Brean Down is memorable. Pick up some tasty Somerset produce to take on your way from the pint-sized farm shop and post office next door.
