The long, dramatic ridge of Cleeve Hill runs like a spine behind Court Farm’s fields. Starting life as a roadside egg shed, the farm shop now fills a purpose-built, red-roofed barn. Two-thirds of the produce on the shelves comes from within 30 miles: bread from Tewkesbury, cakes from down the road, honey from local hives. The hens roam free in acres of land resulting in beautifully fresh eggs with golden yolks.
Court Farm is primarily a livestock farm: cows, pigs and sheep are reared with love and butchered on-site for A-grade cuts, steaks, faggots, meatballs, burgers and a large variety of sausages including the award-winning Toulouse sausages. The butchery offers plenty of choice and has a fantastic BBQ selection. The deli is ripe for picnic plunder: homemade scotch eggs, lovely Court Farm cold ham and beef, Cotswold salami, cheeses, pork pies, sausage rolls, salad pots, local cider and filled baguettes. After you’ve met the pygmy goats and piglets, take your picnic and head up that hill for wonderful panoramic views.
