Cammas Hall Farm, in the beautiful countryside of the Hertfordshire/Essex border, is family owned and pioneered the pick-your-own movement in the 1960s; large letters at the edge of one field proclaiming ‘strawberry fields forever’ are a nod to that era.
Collect your own car snacks with a stroll through the fields to pick strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blackcurrants, blueberries and sweetcorn, depending on the season. When little people have had enough, a nature trail, children’s playground and maize maze (in the summer) will keep them entertained.
In the Tea Barn you’ll find homemade cakes, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, cream teas and fresh smoothies made with ingredients from the farm. There are seats inside and out, and a marquee in the garden. Honey direct from the farm’s hives can be bought in the shop, along with other farm produce including fresh eggs, chutneys, meringues and preserves.
