The Old Schoolhouse Deli-Café

A fabulous little deli-café tucked, as you might guess, behind the old school. It’s homely, with a warm welcome and cake-loaded counter – the sort of place you could drop into a sofa with a magazine as music plays softly in the background.
 
Breakfasts are varied but the signature scrambled eggs and crispy bacon are a must, and the lunch menu may feature jacket potatoes panini, pork pies, and the speciality crayfish salad. The cakes are killer, made back in the kitchen: from gin and tonic loaf to Bakewell slice. The owners are particularly proud of their coffee, which is sourced from a local supplier who travels the world in search of excellence.

Dogs are welcome outside: ask at the counter for free dog treats.
