From farm to fork, Listers is a wonderful place to enjoy a taste of Yorkshire. It’s run by the Lister family, with Grace at the helm, third generation farmers who keep Aberdeen Angus cattle, pigs and sheep as well as an arable enterprise. In the farm shop you’ll be tempted by counters of home-reared meat, handmade sausages and home-cured bacon as well as a selection of deli goodies, including home-cooked meats, local cheeses and pies, jams and chutneys.
The café has wooden tables topped with posies of flowers where you can enjoy homemade sausage rolls, salads, tray bakes, cakes, toasted tea cakes, grazing boards and filling sandwiches. There’s a small but perfectly formed veggie selection and the breakfasts are award-winning – a plateful of Listers’ bacon, sausages, black pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms and eggs will satisfy even the most ravenous.
Children are very welcome and will love the dedicated play area. They can have the run of the pedal-on tractor course, sandpit, swings and Wendy house, and maize maze when in season.
