Johnsons is a family farm with a difference, on the outskirts of Huntingdon. It’s home to a peaceful tea room, fabulous farm shop and lip-smacking steak house. It also has a tropical house, home to the family’s collection of crocodiles, turtles, snakes and iguanas. But don’t worry, you’ll find the more usual farm animals around, too.
Don’t tell the kids, but you can also buy crocodile steaks from the butchery counter; nearly all the meat on sale is home reared. A quick raid of the farm shop, set around a beautiful, covered courtyard in the old cattle shed, should restock your cupboards in full with pork pies, pasties and bread from the bakery, local fruit and veg, 50 varieties of cheese, home-cooked meats, antipasti, scotch eggs and corned beef.
The tea room serves a range of traditional cooked breakfasts, hot and cold lunches, along with homemade cakes and scones. Finish off your visit with a woodland walk.
