A grocer’s shop has stood on this spot since 1809 when the Duke of Atholl demanded a village store be built for the new crossroads. Today, behind the elegant façade and preserved signage, the shelves of the Scottish Deli are crowded with an enormous array of artisan products, from oatcakes and smoked meats to haggis and an enviable cheese selection. They are carefully selected by owners Sarah, Simon and Jane and supplied by producers nearby, where the quality is high enough. The local chutneys and artisan beers scoop the prize for low food miles and a long wine and drinks list (with local fruit wines and mouth-watering Scottish gins) tops things off nicely.

Take a seat at one of the handful of convivial tables to enjoy gourmet sandwiches, salads and soups at lunchtime. In the evening, the deli turns into an award-winning tapas restaurant and wine bar. Service is relaxed and friendly, lingering is encouraged and dogs and children are welcome. There's good parking and EV charging locally.
