A46

Hooks in the window and a marble counter turned breakfast bar hint at this wonderful coffee shop’s former life as a butcher’s shop. It’s the long-held dream of owner Melanie (who even wrote her final project for a business degree on the subject) and she’s created a homely, hip atmosphere that is welcome respite from both the road and the bustling high street just round the corner. Shelves in the corner are filled with trinkets and plants cascade down walls.

Coffee is roasted by Outpost in Nottingham and brewed on the beautiful Italian coffee machine behind the counter. It’s served alongside tasty meals and snacks, perhaps banana pancakes for breakfast, spinach, mushrooms and goats’ cheese on toast for lunch, or a slice of delicious, three-tiered caramel cake.

There’s some pay and display parking just behind, and dogs are welcome.
